Reader's Bench

FAQ

General

I have shared pdf documents with Reader's Bench from other apps where can I find the imported documents?

Shared documents are imported to the 'Imports' folder under Reader's Bench app folder either on your device or iCloud based on your device configuration.

What is the 'Imports' folder?

'Imports' folder is automatically created when you install Reader's Bench. This is where pdf files are imported if you share pdf files from other apps.

What is the progress bar on the top when the PDF is first imported?

When a pdf file is first imported, Reader's Bench will try to import any existing annotations in the file and convert data into Reader's Bench document format. The progress bar shows its progress of it. This is only a one-time process, and depending on the size of the pdf and existing annotations, it may take a while. However, you can start reading and annotating the document since this is a background process.

Why I don't see some of annotated texts in review?

If search is enabled, annotations in review are also filtered based on the search keyword. When the search is cancelled or cleared, all annotations will appear again in the review.

Export/Print button is disabled saying "Please wait while cleaning up..."

If you cancel export/print while Reader's Bench is preparing export/print, Reader's Bench will clean up any remnant cache, which may take a while. The button will be re-enabled as the cleanup is completed.
